Cowries St Merryn are proud supporters of Beach Guardian. Beach Guardian CIC is a Community Interest Company based in Padstow and has regular beach cleaning events to collect and remove rubbish from our lovely Cornish beaches. Beach Guardian organise community beach cleans and conduct educational workshops with schools and other groups to connect people with the environment and to improve health and wellbeing.

We try and attend as many beach cleans as we can whilst staying at Cowries and if there isn’t an organised one on we do our won 2 Minute Beach Clean.

The 2 Minute Beach Clean is an idea that couldn’t be any simpler. It’s about taking 2 minutes to pick up litter at the beach. That’s basically it. But it’s also about more than just that. It’s about social responsibility, taking care of your patch and seeing to it that you keep it clean. Our beaches belong to all of us so it’s all our responsibility to do all we can to keep them beautiful. Take just 2 minutes – it will make a difference.

We are one of the first holiday homes in Cornwall to be given our own Beach Guardian Litter Pickers, please make use of these when you are out and about on our beaches.  – please remember to put them back!
